I am happy to say I made it to Bengkulu. I will post more about where I am staying and living conditions later this weekend if you are interested. This is my first day with WIFI access–still no WIFI at the house.

Abdul Rahman is my colleague at the University of Bengkulu. He is a super nice man. His family is wonderful. Abdul travels with me to visit healers when he is available. If you scroll through the blog from 2019/2020, there are some pictures. He is upwardly mobile–he now has a higher position at the university–so less time to spend traveling around Bengkulu with me.

The college celebration for his new position was interesting. (NOTE: Remember these are my American views, which may not be accurate.). When he picked me up he asked me to change from a dress to pants. However, he did not mention I could not wear open-toed shoes!!! Almost did not get in–he did not tell me no open-toed shoes!!!
